I am Prof. Dr. Matthijs Blankers. As Professor of Addiction Interventions, I am affiliated with Tranzo / Tilburg University. My chair, “Effectiveness of Integrated Addiction Interventions in Relation to Mental Health,” focuses on improving scientific knowledge about interventions aimed at preventing and treating problematic substance use and addiction. Special attention is given to mental health. The goal is to make interventions more effective and efficient by better understanding what works and for whom, ultimately enabling us to provide more appropriate care.
Within the academic workplace on addiction at Arkin/Jellinek, I lead projects and supervise PhD candidates across various research lines aligned with my chair. In addition to my work for Arkin, I am also affiliated with the Trimbos Institute
